A Levels

We aim to inspire you with the right choice of subjects, personalised support and opportunities to reach your potential. Each year around 1,000 young people study A Levels with CAVC and have a sixth form experience with a difference. Here’s just a few reasons why:

• More than 35 subjects to choose from. Including some subjects rarely seen in schools and colleges. Look out for our CAVC exclusive subjects such as Ancient History, Applied Science, Classics, Digital Technology, Journalism, and more.
• Specialist teachers, all experts in their subjects and focused on teaching A Level provision.
• Outstanding facilities! With A Levels based at our landmark City Centre Campus, you can learn in specialist science labs, interactive classrooms, computer suites, film and photography studios, theatre and more.
• With brilliant general spaces to spend time out of class, including our Success and Study Centres, dedicated A Level study spaces on our fourth floor, Student Life Hub and canteen, coffee shop and shops.
• Fantastic university progression routes! Over the last two years more than 1,000 learners have progressed onto university. This year more than ever applied – with over 700 applying and 30% gaining offers from Russell Group universities.
• Expert support to apply to university:
  • teachers linking with subject specialists at universities to offer insights and experiences
  • specialist UCAS support with our Careers & Ideas Team
  • our Scholars Programme including support for Oxbridge, Ivy League, Russell Group and leading university applications.
• The perfect stepping stone to university – building your independence, whilst providing pastoral care and full range of support to achieve your potential and prepare for your next step.

To study A Levels you need a minimum of 6 GCSEs A*-C including English and Maths. If you have less than that, we recommend a different pathway – including BTECs or one of our career-focused courses – all of which can also get you to university and help you reach your potential.
