Adult Basic Education
Adult Basic Education - English, Maths and Digital Literacy
Studying a Literacy (Communication), Numeracy (Application of Number) or Digital Literacy course with Cardiff and Vale College could help you to:
• Gain a qualification (Essential Skills or Agored)
• Prepare for work or a further college course
• Improve everyday skills
Classes are available from Entry 1 to Level 2 and start in September, January and April.
Prior to enrolment you will be required to complete a WEST screener in order to determine your starting level and have a short interview, in order to place you in the class that is right for you.
The 10-week courses run for 6 hours a week and will be a blend of face to face online teaching and independent study. You are expected to commit to the full 6 hours.
Options for April:
All courses will be online and the choices are either:
An accredited Essential Skills qualification - specified study days (available on application). You will be required to attend a college site at the end of the course for the examination.
OR
An Agored unit where you will be able to study flexibly and will not be required to sit an exam. Suitable for learners who want to brush up on skills.
