Living allowance

The living allowance is an additional fund awarded to those learners who are able to provide evidence that they are looked after by the local authority (learners in foster care or who are supported in some way by a Social Worker, for example), learners aged between 19 and 25 who are care-leavers, and learners aged under 25 who are classed as Young Carers – evidence of this can be in the form of an official letter from a social or support worker, family doctor or external agency such as the YMCA.
