This is a knowledge-based qualification for learners employed within the health and social care sector who intend to progress to a management role.
This qualification provides a ‘stepping stone’ opportunity for learners wanting to progress to Level 5. It is designed for learners to develop the key knowledge and understanding that underpins leadership and management in the health and social care sector.
Level 4 Preparing for Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care qualification consists of the following three units:
• Legislation, theories and models of person/child-centred practice
• Theoretical frameworks for leadership and management in health and social care
• Leadership and management of effective team performance in health and social care services
The qualification is expected to take 14 months to complete and the qualification will be delivered through a mixture of online remote learning sessions and 1-to-1 sessions with an assessor.
The online sessions will take place once or twice a month and could be between one to three hours long. Assessments will take place with your ACT assessor or with a City and Guilds external assessor.
Written assignments and oral assessments will require learners to have good verbal and written communication skills.
Learners will need to hold a level 3 relevant Health and Social Care qualification and be working within a health and social care setting.
