Next week sees the popular Butetown Mile, with Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC) as proud lead sponsors alongside Cardiff University’s School of Health & Social Sciences.
A team of runners made up of staff and students will be taking on the challenge, a yearly 1-mile run, jog or walk along Bute Street in Cardiff.
This historical event which started in 1980’s and re-launched in 2013, is as an exciting event with the aim to bring the community together.
The Butetown Mile is suitable for runners of all abilities, with two runs happening on the day -
The Elite Run for the over 18’s only, taking on the challenge of running a mile in under 7 minutes.
The Fun Run for the whole community where participants can run, jog or walk the mile.
The CAVC team sees staff, students, governors and friends of the college participating in the day and across both races.
CAVC Principal Sharon James said: “CAVC are incredibly proud to sponsor the Butetown Mile this year.
"At CAVC we pride ourselves on being at the heart of the communities we serve and supporting and participating in this event is a fantastic opportunity for our staff and students to get active and learn more about the history of this great run.
