Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1926 – 2022
Cardiff and Vale College Group are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Our CAVC community sends sincere condolences to King Charles III and the Royal Family.
Over the forthcoming week, our CAVC community will mark the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. We remain open, and teaching and learning will continue as usual for all, with opportunity to enable reflection and remembrance for all staff and students during this time. We will be closed on Monday 19th September, as a Bank Holiday for the funeral of the Queen.
This week, in line with official guidance for education, all teaching and learning will continue as usual, providing all students with the most supportive and welcoming start to their academic year. Alongside this, staff and students will have opportunity to reflect and mark the passing of Her Majesty. All sites will have a dedicated area for students and staff to send a message using the official Royal Family Book of Condolence. Tutorial sessions on Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, will enable students to reflect on her historic reign and support will be available for anyone struggling with grief at this time. Sport fixtures will continue, with each observing a minute’s silence in memory of the Queen. A tree will be also be planted in the new Garden of Remembrance at the City Centre Campus.
