About Esports

Do you have a passion for gaming? Esports is a fast-growing global industry offering many career paths into event management, coaching, journalism and marketing.
On an Esports course you will develop sector-specific knowledge as well as transferable skills that employers value. You will learn about gaming organisations, teamwork, wellbeing, event planning, content development and match streaming. Higher-level study involves understanding of coaching teams, strategies, analysis and tactics, enterprise and entrepreneurship and sports psychology.
You will also be given the opportunity to play as part of a competitive team and enter tournaments. You’ll learn in high specification gaming facilities with the latest hardware to enable competitive play to a professional level.

Your CAVC

Our qualifications are endorsed by The British Esports Association, meaning employers in this growing industry will recognise your suitability and skills. You’ll learn from expert teachers in specialist facilities, and benefit from guest speakers, masterclasses and trips. You will also put theory into practice, further developing your skills by organising events. Training with Team CAVC Esports Academy alongside your course, you’ll complete in national tournaments in the BEA league!

The UK esports sector has grown at an annual rate of 8.5% between 2016 –2019 (Ukie 2020).

Your Future

CAVC Esports courses provide you with specialist qualifications, skills and experience in the growing Esports industry. Students can also use their qualifications and skills to progress onto university and careers in other areas. Previous students have progressed onto university to study a range of courses including Esports, Event Management and Sports Journalism.

I chose CAVC because of the easy access it has given me to the specialist facilities; the library and all the support I have received from the teachers. Also, the opportunities it has given me to now see where I will be in a few years’ time.
I have found the teachers on the Esports course have been amazing. All the teachers are always looking forward for us, to see the best route for us in the future. My highlight of the course has been meeting likeminded people, who like Esports; but also meeting the team from Esports Wales, when they competed in the College. We had the opportunity to meet the players of the games and also understand how the processes work in the industry.
After finishing this course I’m hoping to go to study Esports at a University level. I’m hoping from University I will be employed in the industry in any aspect. On the course we cover a multitude of units. This year we are covering events, the psychology of esports, coaching and nutrition. People just think it is gaming but it is so much more than that.
