About this course

The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training course has been developed for those working in a Continuous Improvement job role and for senior leaders, responsible for business strategy and improvement.

Lean Six Sigma offers the best of both the Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, helping to standardise work, eliminate waste and defects, improve customer satisfaction, and help the business become more profitable.

A certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is an expert that understands all the advanced Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools needed to manage complicated projects in all sections of a business. 

Delegates will arrange course start dates directly with the course provider once they have been approved for funding.

What you will study

Our Black Belt training course includes comprehensive training materials, exams, certificate, and we will also register you onto the CEPAS public register of Lean Six Sigma certified professionals.

Throughout our CEPAS Black Belt qualification, you will cover a wide range of topics over 8-days.


Day 1

  •  The Role of a Black Belt
  •  Advanced use of DMAIC
  •  Risk Analysis for Black Belts
  •  Change Management
  •  Hypothesis Testing Non-Normal Data
  •  Advanced Regression Analysis

Day 2

  •  Advanced Design of Experiments
  •  Fractional Factorial Experiments
  •  Response Surface Methods and Method of Steepest Ascent / Descent
  •  Prep Black Belt exam #2 (equivalent to Green Belt)

Day 3

  •  Review of mock exam
  •  Final exam preparation
  •  Exam

On completion of the course, you will be able to:

  •  Utilise a wide array of analytical and graphical tools associated with Six Sigma (at the Black Belt level).
  •  Correctly select, utilise and interpret the results from several core analytical tools.
  •  Demonstrate a robust knowledge of the correct usage of objective data in improvement projects.
  •  Begin to develop the competencies required by ISO 18404:2015 through knowledge and practice of a series of technical tools.

Entry requirements

Learners must have already completed the Green Belt

Teaching and assessment methods

This course is delivered online via a virtual Classroom, on weekdays, 9am- 6pm. 


You will need a PC/Laptop with microphone and camera.

Through these exams, you will have your knowledge of key competencies tested and verified, as set out by the ISO 18404:2015.

Exam format - Multiple-choice, online, proctored exam

Number of questions - 60 questions

Open book - No.

Duration - 60-mins.

Pass mark - 45/60 (75%).
