One online multiple-choice examination and two practical inspection and testing assessments. Pre-Course learning is essential. You must have a working knowledge of BS7671 and Guidance Note 3.

This qualification is intended for qualified electricians/supervisors who have experience in inspection and testing and certifying electrical installations, candidates should have/hold a qualification in the current edition of BS7671 Amendment 2022 and have a working knowledge of the current IET Guidance note 3.
Before being accepted on the course you must provide evidence that you meet the entry requirements and hold one of the following college and work-based qualifications.
Level 3 NVQ Electrical Qualification and AM2 (Trade) Certificate. Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification and AM2 (Trade) Certificate.
Or
A current ECS Gold Card, as a JIB Electrician.
Or
A current competent person scheme (NAPIT or NICIEC) member.
Stand-alone college only based L3 technical certificates / Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQ) maybe accepted once checked by a member of staff.
