This qualification provides learners with an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school and college environments. It covers all aspects of specialist support including planning, delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher; bilingual support; special needs support; and personal development and reflective practice.
This qualification will equip you with knowledge, understanding and skills in a range of key subject areas, including:
• safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
• planning and preparing for learning activities
• using assessment strategies to promote learning
• creating a positive environment to support speech, language and communication development of children and young people
• responding to behavior that challenges
Alongside this, learners will complete an additional qualification aimed at supporting individuals with additional learning needs and 200 hours of work placement in a school or college environment.
GCSE C grade or equivalent in English Language GCSE D Grade or equivalent in Maths.
Clear Enhanced DBS Check.
Learners can progress onto the Level 4 Certificate for the Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges, a foundation degree or specialist roles within the workforce.
