If you are keen to pursue a career in engineering, then our Electronic Engineering Level 1 course is a great place to start! This programme provides a background into Electronic Systems, and will develop the necessary skills and knowledge required to continue onto the progression routes at the college, and eventually achieve success within the industry.
Studying in the College's specialist facilities and industry specific workshops, pupils will work alongside qualified and experienced staff to achieve an industry recognised qualification.
On this course, students will study the Mechanical and Electrical Skills NVQ Level 1 or equivalent.
Applicants would benefit from achieving 3 GCSEs Grades D-F. Alternatively, applicants will be considered based on interview and a satisfactory skills scan, with a desire and commitment to complete the course they would wish to study. Successful candidates will require a scientific calculator and PPE for this course, including steel toe cap boots and overalls.
I looked into coming to college and discovered Electrical Engineering is what I wanted to do. It seemed like a good opportunity for me, so I came to see if this was something I was interested in and that I wanted to make a career out of.
I’ve really enjoyed the practical sessions on this course; and the facilities are great as they have everything you need here to prepare you for future employment. As a part of my course I have used drones and also miniature robots. I have found the teachers have been really supportive throughout the course and after finishing this course I am hoping to gain a Higher Apprenticeship or go on to University to study Electrical Engineering.
Successful candidates will have the option to progress onto a full time Level 2 course of their chosen Engineering pathway (Electronic / Mechanical).
