About the Course:

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering pathway (Level 4) and its Level 3 precursors are designed to develop higher-level technical and practical skills needed in modern manufacturing sectors including:
Mechanical engineering
Aerospace manufacturing
Electrical/electronic engineering
Automotive manufacturing
Production and process engineering
Maintenance engineering
Advanced/automated manufacturing technologies

The framework provides employers with skilled technicians capable of supporting high-precision, complex, and technology-driven engineering operations. The apprenticeship is suitable for:
Engineering/manufacturing employees aiming to gain higher technical competence.
Apprentices working in modern production environments
Employers seeking to grow a skilled, high-tech workforce
Individuals looking for a pathway into degree-level engineering while working

Routes:

Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Manufacture
HNC in Engineering
*Essential Communication Skills Level 2
*Essential Application of Number Skills Level 2
*Essential Digital Literacy Skills Level 2

Applicable if proxies are not available

Entry Requirements:

GCSEs in English, Maths and a Science - grade C (new equivalent grade 4) or above
A Level 3 Engineering qualification (e.g., BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or relevant apprenticeship)
Applicants for this pathway need to be 18+ years

Entry to this pathway is flexible so that applicants:
- may have variety of qualifications such as A Levels, Certificate/Diploma in Engineering, Apprenticeship in Engineering or
- without formal qualifications can show, possibly through a portfolio, that they have the potential to complete this apprenticeship, through having previously worked in the sector at Level 3 or
- they are currently employed in the sector and are looking for personal development and career progression.

Important Points:

You must be: Employed for 16 hours or more each week in a suitable role
You must be: Living in Wales or Working 51% of your contract in Wales
You must be: Aged 19 or over
