Cardiff and Vale College has entered into a partnership with M&S to develop the next generation of Cyber Security professionals.
M&S is sponsoring Cyber College Cymru at CAVC, and as part of this partnership, the M&S Cyber Security team will deliver a series of practical, hands-on workshops designed to equip learners with the vital skills needed for a successful career in Cyber Security to help address the UK’s cyber skills shortage.
Through this partnership, M&S’s Cyber Security colleagues will provide expert instruction to a cohort of 21 CAVC learners. The programme will cover ten weekly workshops throughout February and March.
These workshops will cover a range of critical Cyber Security topics, including Windows and Linux investigations, network security fundamentals and incident response. The learners will engage in self-learning challenges focusing on Microsoft Security and ethical hacking, as well as participate in challenge days designed to simulate real-world scenarios.
Steve Cottrell, Chief Information Security Officer, Marks and Spencer said: “The demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals is greater than ever. M&S is proud to sponsor Cyber College Cymru and contribute to addressing this critical need. By providing hands-on training and real-world insights, we aim to equip students with the practical skills they need to succeed and prepare for rewarding cybersecurity careers.”
Sharon James-Evans, Principal at Cardiff and Vale College commented: “Cardiff and Vale College is delighted to partner with M&S on the Cyber College Cymru workshops. This partnership gives students access to industry expertise, ensuring they gain the latest cyber skills.
