Brooke Baker, a Level 3 Public Services learner at Cardiff and Vale College, is set to travel Germany this week to represent Wales in Kickboxing at an International (World Championship) Martial Arts competition.
Brooke, who is 16 and from Barry, will be competing in the Kickboxing (Points) Advanced Division. She currently holds World, British, ICO (International Combat Organisation) and WKO (World Kickboxing Organisation) titles.
"I've been training hard to eventually be the most well-known points fighter around and inspire other fighters to achieve their goals,” Brooke said. “I've recently picked up an injury so I'm hoping it’s not going to hamper my chances."
CAVC Head of Sport, Tourism and Public Services James Young said: “We all wish Brooke the very best of luck – competing at such an elite level is an amazing achievement and we’re all very proud of her.”
