The New Futures Programme is a non-accredited, person-centred course designed to support learners with moderate learning difficulties and/or social and behavioural challenges. Following the RARPA curriculum, sessions are tailored to individual needs and interests, covering four key areas:
Health and Wellbeing – Topics include maintaining health, personal safety, resilience, coping strategies, and physical activity. Learners explore healthy living, safeguarding, and self-awareness.
Employability – Focuses on vocational skills, workplace behaviour, teamwork, job applications, and interview techniques to prepare learners for employment.
Community (Inclusion) – Encourages participation in community activities, social skills, road safety, and volunteering opportunities.
Independent Living – Develops practical life skills such as budgeting, time management, public transport use, self-advocacy, and personal care.
This flexible programme empowers learners to build confidence, independence, and essential life skills for their future.
The course will include individual learning plans and access to a range of facilities and opportunities to develop personal skills and meet personal goals.
