Level 3 Award In Effective Coaching (PLA)
About this course
This course is for front line staff and team leaders in any workplace setting. It will equip you with an understanding of good practice in coaching within organisations and the skills you need to undertake and reflect on coaching within an organisation effectively. It is suitable for learners at all levels who want to develop their knowledge and skills in effective coaching within an organisational context.
What you will study
Topics covered include:
- Coaching and mentoring tools and techniques.
- Theories of coaching
- Practical application of theories
- Overcoming barriers to workplace coaching
- Contracting and codes of practice
Delivered over four, one-day workshops. Assignments to be completed in between workshops.
The workshops are face to face delivered in ACT Training, Ocean Park House, East Tyndall Street, Cardiff, CF245ET
The course caters for all learning styles with a combination of activities and tutorials.

You will learn a recognised coaching model, and the tools and techniques to support it, allowing you to work in job roles that require you to carry out supervised coaching sessions.
If you are planning to move into a development role in your organisation or start a career as a freelance coach and mentor, you can chose to progress onto level 5 of this qualification.
