About this course

Intermediate Excel Training has been designed to build upon a foundation level of knowledge and develop a range of intermediate Microsoft Excel skills for managing more complex and non-routine tasks.

  • Hiding rows, columns and tabs

  • Formatting as a Table
  • Basic Conditional Formatting
  • Absolute v Relative cell referencing, including mixed references
  • Managing Comments
  • Advanced Printing
  • 2-Directional freezing of Panes / Split Panes

  • Data Validation
  • Data Checking – Circular cell references and tracing precedents and dependents

Intermediate Calculations, Functions and Formulas

  • More complex calculations and using Indices

Teaching and assessment

This 1-day course is delivered onsite from 9.30am – 4:00pm.

Entry requirements

This programme is funded through Multiply. To be eligible to enrol, you must:

  • Be aged 19 or over
  • Be able to provide evidence that you currently work and/live in Cardiff and the Vale e.g. ID, Utility Bill, Employment Contract with full address clearly stated.
  • Be dedicated to attending the entire session/s Please upload your evidence when applying as applications will not be processed without this evidence.

Suitability Check:

  • You have already attended our Basic Excel Training
  • And/or are confident in Basic Excel functions, use excel regularly and wish to develop knowledge in topics outlined above in the What You Will Study section.
