About this course
This qualification is for those working, or seeking to work in health and social care settings. This qualification develops the ability of learners to practically support health and care needs of adults in a range of settings. The qualification enables learners to develop and demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding within the context of health and social care practice. This qualification is designed to be taken after the Health and social Care level 2 core course.
What you will study
On this course you cover:
- Promoting health and well-being throughout the life stages,
- Health and social care to support outcome-focused provision for person-centred care
- Supporting core practice in Health and Social Care
- Providing care and support for individuals living in care or home settings
- Supporting individuals living with mental ill-health
- Supporting food safety practice in health and social care settings
- Introduction to physiological measurements in adult
- Emergency first aid, manual handling, basic food hygiene, infection control, Administration of medication, suicide prevention skills
Teaching will be between the classroom and placement settings.
Assessments is an exam, assignments and practical assessments
Learners must also successfully complete:
- an externally set, and internally marked set of tasks
- a portfolio of evidence

Entry requirements
Essential: 4 GCSEs grade A-C including at least a C in English Language and preferably at least a D grade in Maths. Desirable: Health and Social Care core.
