Formerly known as the Safe Handling of Refrigerants (2078) qualification, the aim of this F Gas and ODS Regulations course (2079-11 Category 1) is to provide the applicant with the knowledge and skills to work on the installation, service, maintenance, recovery and leak checking of stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment that contain refrigerants classed as either Fluorinated (F) gases or Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS).
This qualification is linked with the legal requirements and demonstrates how to contain, prevent and reduce emissions of F-gases, covered by the Kyoto protocol. It is a legal requirement that anyone who handles F-Gas refrigerants has the relevant 2079 or equivalent qualification. Please note, F Gas is a challenging course and a pass is not guaranteed.
