This is an introductory course designed for school leavers who wish to progress to further study in courses related to the Creative Industry. This course is designed so that learners develop their artistic skills and knowledge of their own work and of practitioners that will influence their work. The course will involve developing presentation, critique and team work skills that are all essential to the working in the Creative Industry.
Students will be introduced to a range of theoretical and practical modules that will offer an insight to what it is like to study and work in the creative industry.
You will work with a number of specialist subject tutors to develop skills in drawing and paint, clay, textile & 3D modelling and digital photography. Learners will pick artists that will inspire and influence their practice.
As well as developing a multidisciplinary approach, students will build on their skills of self-reflection creating a portfolio of their professional practice.
Applicants would benefit from achieving 3 GCSEs Grades D-F. Alternatively, applicants will be considered based on interview and a satisfactory skills scan, with a desire and commitment to complete the course they would wish to study.
