On this course you will learn all the basic skills required to become a Bricklayer. As part of the training, you will be introduced to health & safety practices related to the workplace, preparation work, initial stages of construction planning, how to calculate materials used in the process of bricklaying and how to construct different types of wall.
The course will cover an introduction to the following subjects:
You will complete a number of practical projects and assessments. There are also end of unit assessments which are completed online. The practical projects you will complete as part of the training and assessment will prepare you for real life work situations.
Candidates must have three GCSEs A* - G including in Mathematics and English. Applicants also need to attend an information evening. PPE/Equipment needed to study: safety boots, work clothing or overalls to change for practical sessions.
On completion of this course students can progress onto a Brickwork foundation course.
