About this course
This Level 4 award is designed for technicians who regularly work on electric systems and components. On completion of this course, our candidates will be able to demonstrate skills that are required to diagnose and repair high voltage systems in a safe manner. The course itself will also cover the repair of hybrid systems on both petrol and diesel vehicles.
What you will study
- Understand electrical principles relating to low and high voltage vehicle systems.
- Know the hazards and first aid associated with working on live high voltage vehicle systems.
- Know how to reduce the risks to yourself and others when working on live high voltage vehicle systems.
- Understand high voltage (HV) systems and components.
- Be able to carry out repairs on high voltage systems safely.

Entry requirements
Candidate will be required to have relevant qualification at Level 2 and Level 3. Candidate will require relevant experience in the automotive industry. It is recommended 4 years.
