About this course

Are you a recent graduate eager to dive into the exciting world of cybersecurity? 

Developed by the Cyber Innovation Hub, you will benefit from a hands-on approach and complete modules in both the theory behind Cyber Technology and how this is implemented in the workplace. Alongside this, learners will benefit from workshops in employability, interview skills and practical case studies to help successfully apply for employment and promotional opportunities within the field.

This Bootcamp will run 4 days a week for 3 weeks between 9:30am – 4:30pm.

What you will study

This Bootcamp will be split into two modules outlined below.

Module One: Cyber Fundamentals / Secure by Design

  • Introduction to Cybersecurity
  • Fundamentals of Information Security Management
  • Social Engineering 
  • Cyber Legislation and Regulations 
  • Encryption/Cryptography
  • Business Continuity
  • Cybersecurity Risk

Module Two: Cyber Tools and Practices / Attack Methodologies 

  • Introduction to Cyber Tools and Processes
  • Endpoint Security and Incident Handling 
  • Cloud Security Fundamentals
  • Cloud Security Principles
  • Network Security 

Alongside this, participants will benefit from tailored employability workshops. This will include interview skills, networking, CV preparation and job description profiling. 
In addition to this, you will have access to guest speakers from the industry as well as one-on-one mentoring sessions.
Face to face classroom training. There is no formal assessment or exam.
On the successful completion of this Bootcamp, learners will be registered with the Cyber Security Council and receive a certificate of completion from the Cyber Innovation Hub.

Entry requirements

This Bootcamp has been designed for university graduates and thus applicants must have graduated within the last 2 years to be considered for this course.

Graduates from all degree subjects will be considered for this Bootcamp, providing they are living or working in the Cardiff Capital Region. This includes Bridgend, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Torfaen, and the Vale of Glamorgan.

All recruitment for this course will be conducted by specialist graduate recruitment agent Darogon Talent. They will contact you directly to screen for funding and conduct a pre-course screening activity to ensure your suitability for the course.
