The Cybersecurity in Business Bootcamp programme is designed to help you develop the skills needed to move closer to a career in the Cybersecurity sector.
Developed by the Cyber Innovation Hub, you will benefit from hands-on approach as you complete modules in both the theory behind Cyber Technology and how this is implemented in the workplace. Alongside this, learners will benefit from workshops in employability, interview skills and practical case studies to help successfully apply for employment and promotional opportunities within the field.
Delivery Schedule:
This is a part-time course and will be delivered every Tuesday and Thursday evening (6:00pm – 9:00pm) and then every other Saturday (9:00am – 12:00pm) in Thales, Ebbw Vale. This Bootcamp will run over 7 weeks. A full list of dates can be viewed here.
This Bootcamp will be split into two modules outlined below.
Module One: Cyber Fundamentals / Secure by Design
Module Two: Cyber Tools and Practices / Attack Methodologies
Alongside this, participants will benefit from tailored employability workshops. This will include interview skills, networking, CV preparation and job description profiling.
In addition to this, you will have access to guest speakers from the industry as well as one-on-one mentoring sessions.
Face to face classroom training. There is no formal assessment or exam.
On the successful completion of this Bootcamp, learners will be registered with the Cyber Security Council and receive a certificate of completion from the Cyber Innovation Hub.
This Bootcamp has no formal entry requirements and applicants will be selected based on merit after a pre-enrolment screener with the provider. Whilst no formal qualifications are required, good technology skills and some programming and networking experience would be beneficial. This course has been especially designed with the following individuals in mind: - Early to mid-career professionals looking to upskill - Recent graduates - IT and Software professionals Applicants must be 18+ and live or work in the Cardiff Capital Region, which includes Bridgend, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Torfaen, and the Vale of Glamorgan. Applicants cannot be in full-time education. All learners will need to provide a recent CV and a short personal statement about why they would like to be considered for this Bootcamp. This should be no more than 300 words and follow these prompts: - Why are you interested in cybersecurity? - Do you have any previous experience in the sector? (for example, previous courses or employment) - What do you hope to achieve from this bootcamp? This will be submitted to Cyber Innovation Hub to support their decision-making process.
On completion of this bootcamp, you will be competent at a CIH Fundamental Level in Cybersecurity and equipped with the skills and knowledge to seek employment or promotion in the sector.
