About this course

The Working in Childcare qualification is a programme of accelerated learning that covers a level 1 and level 2 qualification. The course is designed for learners looking to progress quickly into the workplace and offers the learners the opportunity to develop softer care and employability skills alongside the core elements of the childcare qualification.

What you will study

Learners will study Equality and diversity, communication, and personal development skills along with the principles and care of children’s care, play learning and development, safeguarding and children’s health, wellbeing, learning and development.

Currently, there are almost 103,500 people employed within this sector in the Cardiff Capital Region, with employment numbers expected to reach 105,000 by 2027 (Lightcast 2022).

Upon completion of this course, learners can move to a work based learning course to further expand their practical childcare skills in the workplace.
