About this course

The Biology AS Level programme is a one-year course of study, which follows the WJEC specification and contains two written units: 

  • Unit 1: Basic Biochemistry and Cell Organisation
  • Unit 2: Biodiversity and Physiology of Body Systems

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade A* - C to include English and Maths; minimum grades BB in GCSE Double Science (or Grade C in GCSE Biology Higher) . Mature learners without these qualifications may be accepted after an interview with the subject tutor.
