Each year we are increasing the opportunities and support for students coming from Welsh-medium schools across the region, to continue learning bilingually and through the medium of Welsh. We are growing the number of bilingual courses and modules offered as part of every course, at every CAVC campus, no matter if you’re studying a full time or part time course or an apprenticeship with us, and ensuring students on any course across the College can choose to be assessed through Welsh.

If you come from a welsh speaking school we’ll be in touch during your first month at college to make sure you’re aware of the support available. Rest assured, we offer comprehensive Welsh provision and support to all learners including sending all general correspondence bilingually; ensuring all forms, applications, prospectuses and marketing are bilingual; learners can submit their work in Welsh, complete Welsh or bilingual modules as part of their course, access subject specific terminology guides and receive support to learn bilingually; access digital support such as Cysgliad; attend formal meetings in the language of their choice; and we work with awarding bodies to provide bilingual certificates wherever possible.

You can email cymraeg@cavc.ac.uk at any time if you have a question, or need support; our Welsh Language Officer, Welsh Curriculum Manager and Learning Coaches are always here to help.
