Carpentry

Level(s): Level 2 & 3

Duration: 12 to 24 months

Location: Barry Campus

About the Course:

The City & Guilds Construction (Level 2 and Level 3) - Site Carpentry qualification allows those in work-based learning to demonstrate and enhance their occupational knowledge, skills and understanding of Site carpentry as contained in the National Occupational Standards. 

Routes:

Level 2: 24 months
Level 3: 12 months
Progression opportunities include other Level 3 construction trades or Construction Management Level 4

Entry Requirements:

Suitable for learners aged 16+ working in the construction sector
Completion of Level 2 Foundation in Construction or equivalent
Completion of Level 2 Progression in Site Carpentry
Level 2 must be completed before progressing to Level 3

Important Points:

You must be: Employed in a suitable role within the construction sector

Bricklaying

Level(s): Level 2 & 3

Duration: 12 to 24 months

Location: Barry Campus

About the Course:

The City & Guilds Construction (Level 2 and Level 3) - Bricklaying qualification allows those in work-based learning to demonstrate and enhance their occupational knowledge, skills and understanding of Bricklaying as contained in the National Occupational Standards.

Routes:

Level 2: 24 months
Level 3: 12 months
Progression opportunities include other Level 3 construction trades or Construction Management Level 4

Entry Requirements:

Suitable for learners aged 16+ working in the construction sector
Completion of Level 2 Foundation in Construction or equivalent
Completion of Level 2 Progression in Bricklaying
Level 2 must be completed before progressing to Level 3

Painting and Decorating

Level(s): Core & Level 3

Duration: 12 to 24 months

Location: Barry Campus

About the Course:

The City & Guilds Construction (Core and Level 3) – Painting and Decorating qualification allows those in work-based learning to demonstrate and enhance their occupational knowledge, skills and understanding of Painting and Decorating as contained in the National Occupational Standards.

Core: 12 months
Level 3: 24 months
Progression opportunities include other Level 3 construction trades or Construction Management Level 4

Completion of Level 2 Foundation in Construction or equivalent
Completion of Level 2 Progression in Painting and Decorating

Solid Plastering

Level(s): Core & Level 3

Duration: 12 to 24 months

Location: CTCC, Dumballs Road, Cardiff

About the Course:

The City & Guilds Construction (Core and Level 3) – Solid Plastering qualification allows those in work-based learning to demonstrate and enhance their occupational knowledge, skills and understanding of Solid Plastering as contained in the National Occupational Standards.

Level 3: 24 months

Completion of Level 2 Foundation in Construction or equivalent

Wall and Floor Tiling

Level(s): Core & Level 3

Duration: 12 to 24 months

Location: DB2, Dumballs Road, Cardiff

About the Course:

The City & Guilds Construction (Core and Level 3) – Wall & Floor Tiling qualification allows those in work-based learning to demonstrate and enhance their occupational knowledge, skills and understanding of Wall & Floor Tiling as contained in the National Occupational Standards.

Core: 12 months
Level 3: 24 months
Progression opportunities include other Level 3 construction trades or Construction Management Level 4

Entry Requirements:

Suitable for learners aged 16+ working in the construction sector
Completion of Level 2 Foundation in Construction or equivalent
Completion of Level 2 Progression in Wall and Floor Tiling

Civil Engineering

Level(s): Level 3

Duration: 24 months

Location: CCTC Dumballs Road Cardiff

About the Course:

The Level 3 Diploma is designed to be the substantive part of a programme for learners who want a strong core of sector study. You will have to choose and complete a range of units, be organised, take some assessments that we will set and mark, and keep a portfolio of your assignments

Routes:

The Course is 24 months and can offer progression onto Higher Apprenticeships.

Entry Requirements:

No prior study of the sector is needed but learners should normally have a range of achievement at Level 2, 4 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, including English and mathematics.

Civil Engineering

Level(s): Level 4

Duration: 24 months

About the Course:

If you’re looking to enhance your career in Civil Engineering, then our HNC Civil Engineering course is ideal for you. On the course you will study a range of modules which will develop your professional skills focusing on designing, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure and public works that serve society.

2 A Levels at Grade E or PP/PPP at BTEC Level 3.
GCSE grades A* to C and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) in subjects such as maths and English.
Other related Level 3 qualifications.
Access to Higher Education Diploma awarded by an approved further education institution
Related work experience.
International equivalent of the above.

Duration: 24 months

About the Course:

If you’re looking to enhance your career in Construction Management then our HNC Construction Management course is ideal for you. On the course you will study a range of modules which will develop your professional and technical competencies, in planning coordinating, and overseeing construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
