About this course
The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment has been developed for delivery in a training environment and has been designed to:
- develop learners’ skills and knowledge at this level.
- prepare learners to take further qualifications to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding within their chosen craft.
- fulfil CSCS training requirements for the Labourer's card.
What you will study
This qualification comprises the 1 mandatory unit;
- Health and safety in a construction environment.
The programme will be taught using a combination of lectures and tutorials. The programme will be assessed using a multiple-choice examination and the completion of a workbook.

Entry requirements
Learners must be aged 16 and over and have English Language GCSE grade A*-D or a level 1 COMMS qualification.
