This Engineering EAL Diploma will suit anyone who is looking for a career in Engineering or a related area. It allows you to learn the basics and try your hand at different trades and careers, to help you find out what you enjoy and what suits you most. You gain the opportunity to experience mechanical, electrical, electronic engineering, and general engineering. On this course there are range of practical and theory sessions. You will gain a range of industry qualifications.
On the course you will study a wide range of practical and theory sessions including:
4 GCSEs Grade A* - D to include Maths A* - C (or equivalent) and English at A*- D OR A suitable Level 1 Engineering qualification at Merit grade or above with either an appropriate Maths unit graded merit or above, or Grade A*- C in GCSE Maths. Successful candidates will require PPE for this course, including steel toe cap boots and overalls.
I looked into coming to college and discovered Electrical Engineering is what I wanted to do. It seemed like a good opportunity for me, so I came to see if this was something I was interested in and that I wanted to make a career out of.
I’ve really enjoyed the practical sessions on this course; and the facilities are great as they have everything you need here to prepare you for future employment. As a part of my course I have used drones and also miniature robots. I have found the teachers have been really supportive throughout the course and after finishing this course I am hoping to gain a Higher Apprenticeship or go on to University to study Electrical Engineering.
After completing this course, successful candidates may progress onto one of the higher level courses at college, which include:
