Digital Literacy Essential Skills

The Digital Literacy course will help you develop a range of skills that enabling you to live, learn and work in our digital society. These skills can be used on a smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.

You will:

• demonstrate how to safely interact digitally
• know what is meant by a digital footprint
• be able to organise and store digital information
• be able to select digital information
• know how digital collaboration can be useful when carrying out a task
• be able to create a multimedia digital resource
• know how digital literacy can extend learning opportunities

The qualification is assessed via a controlled assessment. Learners will complete this whilst attending college, under supervised conditions.

Part-time enrolment fee: £10.00

Entry Level – no entry requirement

Level 1 – a basic understand of digital file management and use of the internet

Level 2 – an essential skill digital literacy qualification at Level 1 or equivalent
