Barry Waterfront Campus
This brand-new landmark campus in the heart of Barry will provide a vibrant place to learn for the whole community. Open throughout the week, including evenings and weekends, the Barry Waterfront Campus will provide a learning environment for people of all ages, from young school leavers to adults. More than just traditional classrooms, the campus will be home to real-world learning and state-of-the-art learning spaces such as a Hair and Beauty Salon and a Restaurant that will both be open to the public, giving learners hands-on experience while creating welcoming spaces for the local community to enjoy.
Light, modern teaching and IT rooms will sit alongside social spaces including a courtyard with lawn seating, an external garden terrace and a covered outdoor dining area — places to take a break, meet friends or simply enjoy being on campus.

Project Overview
Construction at Barry Waterfront Campus, Cardiff & Vale College, is advancing well with concrete works nearing completion and focus transitioning to structural envelope and interior systems preparation.
Progress to Date
- Structural Works: All upper floor slabs completed; ground floor slab progressing with 4 of 5 planned pours finished
- Envelope Systems: Structural facade systems (SFS) and window installation underway on Phase 1
- Site Infrastructure: Groundworks progressing in car park and northern project areas
- Roof Systems: Plant room and main roof installation ongoing
Upcoming Works
- Ground floor slab completion (final pour)
- Phase 1 SFS completion and continued window installation
- SFS installation across all remaining elevations
- Commencement of internal trade works (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
The project is progressing smoothly across multiple work streams, with the transition from structural and envelope works to interior fit-out expected in the coming weeks.
