Face Coverings

Cardiff and Vale College Update: Face Coverings

Last updated: 20.02.21

From Tuesday 1st September 2020, all staff and students must wear a face covering at all times and everywhere on campus.

This decision was taken following the Welsh Government announcement on face coverings in schools and colleges made on Wednesday 26th August.

Face coverings must be worn at all times and everywhere on campus, including outside communal areas on campus such as car parks.

From Monday 22nd February, all staff and all students must also wear face coverings in all classrooms and teaching spaces for all lessons and assessments/ examinations.

Our top priority is keeping our staff and students safe when on campus. Face coverings alone will not stop the spread of COVID-19, but we are adding this additional measure, alongside all other steps we have taken, to reduce the spread and minimise the risk to all.

Your face covering should be a three layer face covering, in line with government guidance.

Government guidance on face coverings can be found here with useful information on this and using one responsibly. Please bring your own face covering to campus each day. If you forget your face covering or do not have one when you arrive at campus you will be issued one from reception.

If wearing a disposable mask on campus please ensure that you dispose of in the general waste bins. These will be emptied on a regular basis in line with guidance.

We understand that some people are unable to wear face coverings due to their health. If you are a student due to start a course and you are exempt from wearing one please let us know as soon as possible.
