About this course

Do you have a passion for gaming? This is the course for you! On this course you can expect to use professional gaming standard equipment including: gaming computers, chairs, mouse, keyboard and sound systems. You will also learn to use video and sound editing equipment. You will be given the opportunity to play as part of a competitive team and enter competitions.

This is a growth area for employment and leads to opportunities in marketing, event management, digital creation, web design, public relations and gaming related industries. Gaming time will be included within the course to develop skills, strategies and analysis.

Our Esports course is a two-year BTEC Level 3 Diploma in E-sports and is equivalent to two A levels. With the addition of the Welsh Bac this qualification equates to 3 A Levels on completion of the two year programme.

What you will study

On this course you will study units including:

Year 1:

  • Introduction to Esports
  • Esports Skill, Strategies and Analysis
  • Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in Esports Industry
  • Health, Wellbeing and Fitness for Esports

Year 2:

  • Esports events
  • Live-streamed Broadcasting
  • Video Production

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs Grades A* - C including English Language and Maths (or equivalent ) or Esports Level 2 qualification with Merit profile and GCSEs Grade A*-C English Language and Maths (or equivalent). International student will require an IELTS of 6.5 or above. There is a mandatory kit required of approximately £80 for T-shirts and hoodie from Macron
