About this course

This 3 year course will allow learners to develop the academic skills required to become successful in A levels. Learners will use the first year to close the gaps in literacy and numeracy as well as prepare for the AS content within the discrete pathway.

Learner skills will be developed through the level 2 Work Skills qualification which will tie into their work experience & tutorial programme.

The work experience will be crucial part of the programme whereby learners will reinforce the life skills being developed as well as gain motivation to push themselves academically.  This will aim to be high level placement such working at the BBC.

Qualifications – Year 1

  • GCSE English Language: Grade C-B
  • GCSE Maths: Grade C-B
  • Level 2 Award in Work Skills
  • Internal AS Foundation English

Qualifications – Year 2

  • AS English Literature
  • AS Media
  • AS Welsh Baccalaureate

Qualifications – Year 3

  • A2 English Literature
  • A2 Media
  • A2 Welsh Baccalaureate

Three A* - C GCSE, including minimum English & Maths grade D
