This is an introductory course designed for school leavers who wish to enter the field of health, social care or childcare. The course offers preparatory units on a variety of topics which provide insight into the key requirements of a health /social care/ childcare professional. Students will be introduced to a range of theoretical and practical modules that will offer the learner an insight into the rewarding field of health and care. The learner will undertake 15 units which are assignment based. There is no exam element to the course. The student will also resit a GCSE subject alongside their main qualification.

2 GCSE D grades with a D in GCSE English Language or Cymraeg Gwaith and E in GCSE Maths.

Upon completion of level 1 Introduction to Health and Social Care (Early Years and Childcare) and successful attainment of GCSE re-sit, students can potentially choose a progression pathway into either Health and Social Care at level 2 or Child Care at level 2. Both level 2 courses offer opportunity for progression into level 3 and beyond.
