About Teaching and Education

A role within the education sector can be hugely rewarding with opportunities existing both inside or outside the classroom. You get the chance to inspire children, young people or adults and use your skills to give something back – making sure every learner gets the same access to a quality education and the opportunity to succeed. You could choose to enter the teaching profession plus there are related jobs in areas such as learning support or early years care and education.

As a qualified lecturer in the post-compulsory sector you could earn between £23,546 - £35,551.
The above rates are recommended by the University and College Union (UCU).

Successful completion of the PGCE PcET qualifies you to teach in post-compulsory education in your chosen subject. You could also progress to further study including MA Leadership and Management (PCET) or (FE), or other MA Education and linked pathways courses offered at the University of South Wales. The Learning Support Foundation
Degree will help boost your career prospects and knowledge of best practice in the sector.
