Several of our Science and Humanities courses are delivered at our brand new City Centre Campus in Cardiff with outstanding facilities on offer including a dedicated HE study centre and Learning Resource Centre. For those studying a Science programme, you will benefit from the state-of-the-art laboratories, all designed to fully prepare you for the world of work or further study.


These qualifications provide you with transferable skills that will relate to all sorts of professions and are hugely sought by employers across a range of sectors.


Further study options include topping up to the BA (Hons) English, BA (Hons) History or BA (Hons) English and History, BSc (Hons) Psychology, BSc Chemistry or BSc Human Biology at the University of South Wales.

Course options

BTEC Diploma -Applied Science

This is a two-year, level 3, vocational course in Applied Science, suitable for a wide range of students. The BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Applied Science is a qualification for post-16 learners who want to continue their science education through applied and practical  learning and whose aim is to progress either to university or employment in the science sector. The course is ideal for learners who have an interest in being lab technicians; working in forensic, analytical or medical science; becoming a nurse or a paramedic or for learners who want to study general/applied science at university.

Foundation Degree Psychology

This exciting programme will focus on different psychological approaches and theories and through an integrated Preparation for Work module, will give you the opportunity to learn how to put psychological theories into practice.

Foundation Degree English and History

The only foundation degree in English and History in Wales, this course provides a unique combination of classroom-based study and flexible, work-based learning. You will benefit from small classes, tailored supervision and the opportunity to progress and complete an honours degree in English and/or History from the University of South Wales.
