Subway supports Cardiff and Vale College Freshers' Fayre
Cardiff and Vale College will welcome some 4,000 new students through its doors next week with a series of Freshers’ Fayre events.
The College will hold an all-day event at its £45m new City Centre Campus on September 15th and a further event will take place for Vale students at the Colcot Road campus in Barry on the 17th. The new students will have the opportunity to pick up freebies and information from a range of stands that will visit both of the Fayres.
A climbing wall from Boulders, a DJ truck and Capital FM, live hairdressing demos and a penalty shootout competition held by Cardiff City FC will be among some of the entertainment on offer. There will also be stands giving away vouchers for local shops and venues, food or information on a range of areas.
This year CAVC’s Freshers’ Fayre will be sponsored by Subway. The popular sandwich and salad retailer has just opened a franchise at the College’s new City Centre Campus and has offered to sponsor the Fayre, as well as holding a “six foot sub” contest for students during the week.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us in Subway to help raise awareness of the new commercial ventures we are undertaking here at the College,” CAVC Commercial Retail Manager Andrew Ursell said. “We have a unique situation here where every penny of profit that we make gets put straight back into the College to the benefit of every student at Cardiff and Vale College.
“Subway is a long-standing brand with a great following in the 16-19 demographic, and we felt this was a fantastic opportunity to give back to the young people who stand by us not only here at the College but also in the wider community.”
