CCFC and CAVC - a winning team
Cardiff City Football Club has joined with CAVC in offering elite work based learning to its players.
The club’s Education Team has run successful work based learning, with a 100% pass rate, for more than ten years and will now work with the College on an expanding portfolio of education programmes as they start life in the Premiership.
CCFC has an established partnership with CAVC to support education and training programmes for budding professional footballers from the club’s House of Sport development, next to the stadium. The College’s work based learning team will now support the club as it continues to deliver the Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence for its players. CAVC and CCFC already work closely in partnership.
“This is an excellent way for us to build on the foundations already in place with our partnership with the College,” Education Manager Steve Ellis said.
Designed specifically for elite athletes, the sports performance programme provides structured training and development routes for talented young sports men and women. Reflecting a range of skills knowledge and performance criteria, the apprenticeship is a means of directly measuring an athlete’s ability to plan, apply and evaluate their development. It also addresses issues such as lifestyle, career development and health and safety.
The apprenticeship also features an NVQ in Level 3 in Sport (Performance & Excellence) and a BTEC Level 3 in Sport (Performance and Excellence).
