CAVC partner with UK’s largest advice provider
Cardiff and Vale College has partnered with the Citizens Advice Bureau to offer a Money Advice Service to students at the College’s Trowbridge site. The service will allow students to have confidential discussions with a Money Adviser and gain impartial advice.
As the UK’s largest advice provider, the Citizens Advice Bureau are equipped to deal with any issue, from anyone, spanning debt and employment to housing and immigration plus everything in between. In the last year alone, the Citizens Advice service has helped over two million people to solve more than seven million problems.
The College wants to support all students as much as possible and a partnership with the Citizens Advice Bureau who provide free, confidential and impartial advice will prove invaluable to the College’s students and help many students deal with money worries and hopefully provide practical solutions.
The Citizens Advice Bureau will be in Trowbridge on 8th February 2012, and clinics will commence from 9th February 2012. Finance and Welfare Manager at Cardiff and Vale College, Felix Mc Laughlin, said: “I feel that these clinics will help students tremendously, because I know I have had plenty of conversations with those in need of guidance in relation to money/budgeting/debt etc, but now having professional help in place, it means we can provide even more support.”
Hannah Mathias, Money Adviser at Citizens Advice Cymru, said: “Citizens Advice has three years’ funding to provide face-to-face money advice sessions to people across Wales and will be at Cardiff and Vale College in February. Money advice can help you with such things as preparing a weekly or monthly budget, understand the tax and welfare benefits systems or find out about saving options. The Money Advice Service is completely impartial.”
