CAVC CILEx students achieve more distinctions than in any previous year
CILEx students at Cardiff and Vale College celebrated strong results in the January exams. In particular there were 29 distinctions in the January exam window, which is already more than across any previous year with the June results still to come.
CILEx Co-ordinator Max Weedon said: “These results reflect the hard work and ability of students and tutors, but also of course the developments in the course over the last five years. The most significant is the resources we offer students. All CILEx lessons and exams now take place in excellent professional training rooms.
“A library is available in the day and evenings which includes the latest textbooks and materials for CILEx courses. The January results add to the existing proof that the best route to success is a well-structured course delivered by expert tutors with excellent resources.”
Other college facilities include a rooftop restaurant, a gym, shops, a hair and beauty salon and even a spa.
The College’s new City Centre Campus with its key location has also proved a boon in attracting students. The courses now benefit from being accessible to large numbers of CILEx students in and around Cardiff, and further afield. Its proximity to Cardiff Central Station has enabled more and more students to come to the College from Swansea and Bristol.
Laura Brackenbury studies at CAVC while living and working in Bristol.
“After deciding to change career and move into law, CILEx seemed the obvious option,” she said. “It’s affordable, and the manageable and flexible nature of the study made my decision easy. There were no study centres around Bristol that offered the modules that I wanted to do. I don’t mind the travelling because the quality of teaching and support I have experienced at CAVC has proved it was well worth it.”
