CAVC and Celtic Manor team up to offer Rugby World Cup hospitality

Cardiff and Vale College has teamed up with the Celtic Manor to offer hospitality in the heart of the Capital during this autumn’s Rugby World Cup.

Eight matches will be held at the Millennium Stadium during the tournament, and CAVC will offer high-class hospitality at its £45m new City Centre Campus, a stone’s throw from the venue. So, whether you have tickets for a match or not, why not come to ‘Celtic Conversion’ at the new campus on Dumballs Road to enjoy pre and post-match dining including a drinks reception and three course lunch or dinner with wine in the College’s stunning fifth floor restaurant with views right across the city?

Wales and Lions legend Sir Gareth Edwards will be on hand to offer pre-match expert insight on the opening weekend of the World Cup, giving talks before the Ireland v Canada match on September 19th and the Wales v Uruguay game on September 20th. Celtic Conversion events will also take place during the quarter finals on the 17th and 18th of October.

Tickets are £89 per person and include pre-match drinks, a three course meal prepared by the Celtic Manor’s culinary team, post-match refreshments, a screen for guests staying on to enjoy the matches and complementary overnight parking at City Centre Campus.

Cardiff and Vale College’s Commercial Retail Manager Andrew Ursell said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the College. The opportunity to join forces with one of the top hotel and dining venues in the UK and deliver something that no-one else in Further Education has attempted before is a real feather in CAVC’s cap.

“The prestige that collaborations like this bring to the College is second to none and the opportunity for learners to develop their skills with some of the best people in the industry is a brilliant step for their career development. I am looking forward to a great partnership with the Celtic Manor that we can develop during other events and the benefits that this will bring to both parties.”

CAVC’s Deputy Head of Tourism, Hospitality & Sport Eric Couturier added: “The opportunity for Cardiff and Vale College to work in partnership with the Celtic Manor Resort to deliver Rugby World Cup hospitality is not only great news for rugby fans, it’s also great news for our Hospitality learners who will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with the Celtic Manor’s culinary team. It’s an exciting prospect and we hope to build on the success of this first collaboration in the future.”
