A Personal Learning Account (PLA) is a programme funded by Welsh Government which allows those who meet the criteria below to access FREE courses and professional qualifications that develop your skills and help you to progress or change your career.
PLA courses provide the skills and qualifications that local employers are looking for. They focus on sectors that are growing in this region and where there is currently a need for people with these skills. Designed to be flexible and work around your life and commitments, the goal is that at the end of the course or courses, there will be well-paid job vacancies available for you to apply for.

Eligibility criteria for Personal Learning Account (PLA) courses:
If you’re aged 19 or over (on commencement of the training course), living in Wales and any of the below apply to you, then you could be eligible:
AND earning under the median income £32,371.

All other eligibility criteria applies.
You cannot get a PLA if you are under 19 years of age (on commencement of the training course), live outside of Wales, or in full-time education, or on an apprenticeship or in receipt of a Welsh Government Learning Grant or Education Maintenance Allowance, or unemployed or an ineligible overseas national.
You can only undertake one qualification at a time and the exam/assessment must be completed before applying for further qualifications.
